LOS ANGELES, California — I’m writing this from the Fire Aid concert in Los Angeles. A friend from Live Nation gave tickets to musically-inclined kids from the Pacific Palisades who lost homes or were otherwise affected by the fires. (Our house is still standing, but we can’t go home. Not yet. Perhaps not for years.)
I’m the chaperone tonight, and yet I’m barely managing a storm of emotions.
