Jordan Love injury comes with ‘high level of concern’ from Packers

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t sugarcoat how the team was feeling about Jordan Love’s injury.

The Green Bay quarterback left their 30-27 win over the host Jaguars early in the second half due to a groin injury, forcing the Packers to turn to Malik Willis.

Love didn’t return to the game and afterward, LaFleur acknowledged the concern from the team.

“Obviously high level of concern,” he told reporters after the win, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. “I think everybody could see him struggling to move around and I just got to a point where we didn’t, he didn’t feel like he could protect himself.”

Love had appeared to be favoring his left leg for the better part of the afternoon before he was pulled out of the game in the middle of the Packers’ first drive of the second half.

Green Bay had trailed 13-10 when Love had exited the game and had completed 14 of his 22 passing attempts for 196 yards and an interception.

Willis completed 4-of-5 passes for 56 yards and connected with Jayden Reed for a 51-yard pass to set up the game-winning field goal.

Love had missed two games this season due to a knee sprain.

The Green Bay quarterback scared Packers fans earlier in the game when he appeared to have suffered a leg injury in the first quarter.

On a throw, Love landed awkwardly while making a throw, which forced him to get checked out in the blue medical tent.

Love remained in the game after being looked at before exiting for good early in the third quarter.

It’s still early yet and the impact the injury could have isn’t completely clear, but for the Packers, they can feel some comfort in turning over the ball to Willis if need be after his showing yet again on Saturday.
