Meryl Streep and Martin Short’s romance rumors are heating up.
The “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars were all smiles while arriving at the celebrity favorite Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif., on Wednesday.
Streep, 75, walked shortly in front of Short, 74, wearing a blue and white blouse paired with navy blue pants and creme-colored flats.
As for the actor, he dressed up in a gray suit, a white button-up shirt and black sneakers.
They drove off together in the “Little Women” star’s white sedan, as she drove and Short rode shotgun.
Rumors that the duo, who play on-screen love interests, were dating were sparked when they were photographed looking cozy and sitting together at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Despite the speculation, a rep for Short insisted they were “nothing more” than friends, per People.
Later that month, the “Saturday Night Live” alum doubled down on the rumors, telling Bill Maher on his “Club Random” podcast that they are “very close friends.”
Short and Streep, however, have continued to fuel speculation, often stepping out with each other to dinner and attending Broadway shows together.

Most recently, the actress and the “Santa Clause 3” star were seen holding hands at the Season 4 premiere of their Hulu show, also starring Selena Gomez and Steve Martin.
Insiders told Page Six Streep and Short remained close while inside the theater and their “close friendship” was widely noticeable as they stayed by each other’s side the entire night.
“They walked in holding hands, and were in great spirits, laughing. It was very sweet and cute,” we’re told. “It’s gotta be more than a ‘showmance.’ There is definitely something there.”
Short and the “The Devil Wears Prada” star’s alleged fling comes after Page Six revealed in October 2023 that the latter secretly split from her husband, Don Gummer, six years ago.
The exes were married for 40 years.
The Tony Award winner, meanwhile, was wed to wife Nancy Dolman for three decades until she died in 2010.
