Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel became the all-time FBS leader in touchdowns with 179 on Saturday. With his second touchdown pass in a 39-18 win over Maryland, Gabriel surpassed Case Keenum, who scored 178 TDs from 2007-11 at Houston.
Gabriel hit offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson for a 3-yard score midway through the third quarter to take the top spot. Just before halftime, he tied Keenum on the all-time list with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Ferguson with 20 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
The Ducks QB threw a third TD pass, connecting with Evan Stewart on a 17-yard score late in the fourth quarter. Gabriel finished with 183 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-34 passing and rushed for an additional 28 yards on four carries.
With the win over Maryland, No. 1 Oregon improved to 10-0 (7-0 Big Ten). Matchups with Wisconsin (5-4) and Washington (5-5) remain on the regular season schedule before a likely spot in the Big Ten championship game.
During his six college seasons, Gabriel has 146 passing touchdowns, 32 rushing scores and one receiving touchdown.
Divided up among the three schools for which he’s played in his career, Gabriel threw for 70 TDs at UCF, 55 at Oklahoma and 21 thus far at Oregon. He rushed for eight TDs with the Knights, 18 for the Sooners and six with the Ducks. His lone receiving touchdown was with UCF during the 2021 season.
The most TD passes Gabriel threw in a season was 32 as a sophomore in 2020. He rushed for 12 touchdowns as a senior in 2023.
Keenum threw for 155 touchdowns for the Cougars, while rushing for an additional 23 scores. He twice had 44 touchdown passes in a season and threw 48 as a senior. His highest season total for rushing TDs was as a freshman when he scored nine during the 2007 season.
The top five on the all-time FBS touchdown list is rounded out by Sam Hartman (154), Baker Mayfield (153) and Bo Nix (152).
