Shalom, I’m Kayla Sprague. Welcome you to today’s ALL ISRAEL Prayer Points.

Where are we and why is it significant to what happened in the Middle East this week?

We are here at Damascus Gate, the largest gate to the Old City and the main entrance to the Muslim Quarter.

Did you know that in Bible times there was a highway from THIS gate all the way to the capital of Syria, Damascus?

That brings us to today. Significant geopolitical developments in Syria have created urgent prayer needs, particularly for Christian and minority communities following the sudden fall of the Assad regime as Syrian rebels overtook Damascus.

The situation has rapidly evolved with rebel groups, some of which are Jihadi extremists, taking control of Syria, leaving Christian communities and other minorities, including Kurds and Druze, in an increasingly vulnerable position.

As we read in Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Let this truth comfort us as we lift up those facing persecution and uncertainty in Syria.

Let us focus on these specific prayer points together:

Let’s pray for:

– For protection over Christian, Druze and other minority communities in areas now controlled by Jihadist groups, particularly in regions where reports of violence are emerging

– For the Kurdish-controlled northeastern region to maintain stability as a refuge for religious minorities and as a model of democratic governance

– For wisdom and discernment for Western leaders as they respond to the rapidly changing situation, that they would not be deceived by false promises of reform

– For protection of displaced families, particularly women and children who are most vulnerable in conflict zones

– For prevention of chemical and strategic weapons falling into the hands of Jihadist entities

– For stability in neighboring countries, like Israel, Lebanon and Jordan, as the region experiences significant changes

The words of Isaiah 61:3 assure us that the Lord gives us “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” May this promise encourage those facing persecution today.

Thank you for joining us and for praying for the Middle East’s vulnerable communities. We are so grateful for you! Please subscribe to this channel and visit allisrael.com for more updates. May the God of Israel protect His people throughout the region. Shalom.
