Alivia Rinehart and Josie Wilson went low on the track, while William Hollensteiner went long in the triple jump and cruised in the hurdles as Flathead swept Missoula Hellgate and Sentinel at Legends Stadium Tuesday.
Rinehart’s 44.58 second run in the 300-meter hurdles put her second in AA behind just Madilyn Todorovich of Helena. She added a second place in the 100 meters.
Wilson’s time of 11:29.89 gave her the win by nearly two minutes as the Bravettes won the meet with 74 points. Hellgate finished second with 55 points, followed by Sentinel at 52.
Reagan Castillo set a personal best in the 200 meters for Flathead while Everett Holland set her best time in the 400 meters as both freshmen picked up victories.
In the field the Bravettes earned victories from Naomi Miller in the long jump and Alice Dolezal in the triple jump.
On the boys side, Hollensteiner’s 45-8 leap is good enough for fourth best in AA as the junior won by nearly five feet over Hellgate’s Case Procacci (41-0). Hollensteiner added a personal best in the 300 hurdles at 39.19 seconds, which puts him third in AA behind teammate Lane Chivers and Glacier’s Ethan Anderson.
The Braves took the meet win with 73 points, ahead of Sentinel’s 58 and Hellgate’s 50.
Ben Bliven added a pair of wins in the 100 and 200, coming up short of his personal bests.
Kasen Kastner added a win in the 800 meters.
Freshman Carson Thorne set a personal best as he won the 3200 meters over teammate Brodyn DeShaw, who also set a new personal record.
Next up for the Flathead track and field teams is the Archie Roe Track Meet at Legends Stadium Saturday.
