
RONAN — Tayler Lingle singled in the top of the ninth inning, driving home Chevelle Bedford as Columbia Falls picked up an extra innings win over Ronan Tuesday in high school softball.
Onnika Lawrence homered and doubled in a 3-for-4 performance for the Wildkats (9-6).
Ella Branstetter went 8 1-3 innings pitching in relief, allowing five runs on 10 hits and striking out nine.
Ally Luedtke and Kai-Cee Sorrell both hit long balls for the Maidens (7-6), Sorrell’s tying the game at eight in the bottom of the seventh.
After a scoreless eighth, Bedford led off the ninth with a single. She advanced to third on a groundout by Addy Bowler before Lingle brought her in for the go-ahead run.
Branstetter struck out the Ronan batters in order to close out the game.
Thompson Falls-Noxon 15, Eureka 5
THOMPSON FALLS — Olivia Fitchett doubled and scored three runs as Thompson Falls-Noxon cruised past Eureka in a Class B showdown.
Fitchett’s double led off a four-run first for the Blue Hawks (10-7), who led 15-1 after three innings.
Maddie Chase tried to pull the Lions back into the game with a two-run single in the fourth, another two-run single from Tessa Seiler made it 15-5 but Eureka (3-12) could get no closer.
Fitchett and Sarah Koskela combined in the circle for the win for Thompson Falls-Noxon. The game ended after five innings due to the run rule.
Troy 7, Plains 5
PLAINS — Autumn Fisher hit a two-run inside-the-park home run to help Troy over Plains in a Class B matchup.
Fisher’s homer drove in Halle Wallace and put the Trojans (11-3) up 6-3 in the top of the fifth inning. Ellah Wallace added another run in the inning, scoring on a passed ball.
Plains (3-13) responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth as Bri Kulawinski came home on an error and Karissa French drove in one on a groundout to first.
Leslie Gravier shut down the Trotters late, going five innings in relief. She allowed two runs on three hits and struck out eight.
Halle Wallace started in the circle and went two innings, allowing three runs and fanning three.
