The desperate mom of sickly thin Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski is begging the world for help after a twisted new Hamas propaganda clip depicts him warning he is on the “verge of death.”
Tami Braslavski said she hasn’t been able to function since seeing the footage of her emaciated 22-year-old son, who rolls on the floor clutching his stomach in the just-released clip as he begs Israel to send food and water to Gaza.
“My heart is shattered, and my mind is consumed all day with thoughts and overwhelming worry for Rom,” the heartbroken mother said in a statement after approving the airing of the footage Sunday.
“Rom has become so emaciated that his body can barely support itself. Every bone in his body aches. He can’t sit, lie down, or stand because he’s so painfully thin — nothing but skin and bones,’’ she said.
“Rom’s vision is failing, and he needs glasses, which he doesn’t have there. When I look into Rom’s eyes, I see tears streaming down his face, and I cry with him.
“There isn’t a single spark of hope left in his eyes. Tragically, despair, anger, and frustration have replaced his will and hope to come home,’’ Tami said.
“The fear we live with has become more tangible than ever, and it’s important that the whole world sees this, despite my personal difficulty in publicly showing my Rom in the dire condition he’s in.”
Rom’s dad Ofir added, “What can I say?
“He’s dying. You’re watching your son dying before your eyes, and there’s nothing you can do,’’ he told Channel 12 news, according to the Times of Israel.
The new 90-second clip is part of a longer video that had other portions released last week also showing Rom starving — and fellow skeletal hostage Evyatar David being forced to dig his own grave.
Kin have said Rom’s emaciated appearance was so shocking that they didn’t initially recognize him.
“I am on the verge of death, and I’m sure that like me all the other prisoners are in the same mental and physical state,” Rom said in the newly released footage.
“Please, stop this hell that we are in. Please, stop this suffering that we are in.”
Rom revealed he was no longer able to stand up or walk due to pain in his feet.
“I am suffering with pain that doesn’t look good in my foot. I can’t stand, and I can’t walk to the bathroom,” he said, adding later that he now lies on a thin mattress 24 hours a day.
“I’ve run out of food and water. If before, yes, they would give me a little bit. Today, there is nothing at all. Three pieces of falafel, that’s what I ate today. Yesterday, I barely ate a plate of rice.
“I can’t sleep. I can’t live. You have to stop what you’re doing here. What’s wrong with you? What’s gotten into you? Why are you doing this to us? Bring in food. I am surviving on less than a liter of water,” he added.
At one point, Rom can be seen keeled over with bruises on his arms and legs.
The young man, who was working as a security guard at the Nova music festival when he was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, is among the remaining 20 or so Israeli hostages believed to still be alive.
Footage of Rom and David had emerged as the twisted terror group continued to stall negotiations to release the remaining living captives.
It comes too amid global outrage over the starvation crisis plaguing the Palestinian enclave.
President Trump, for his part, has repeatedly urged Hamas to free the remaining hostages and bring an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“The fastest way to end the Humanitarian Crises in Gaza is for Hamas to SURRENDER AND RELEASE THE HOSTAGES!!!,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post last week.
