Recipe for the Most-Lemony Lemon Bar of All Time
Ingredients
For the crust:
- 1 (125 grams) all-purpose flour
-1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar - 12 salt
- 1/2 cup (115 grams) uns butter, cold and cubed
For the filling:
- 4 eggs
-1 1/2 (300 grams) granulated sugar - 1/4 cup (30 grams) all-purpose flour
- 12 (120 ml) fresh lemon juice (about3–4 lemons)
- Zest of 2 lemons
- Pinch of salt
For topping:
- Lemon candies or lemon-flavored hard candies, for garnish
Instructions
Preparing the crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour,, salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased or parchment-lined baking pan.
- Bake for minutes or until lightly golden#### Making the filling:
- a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, flour, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the filling over the-baked crust#### Baking:
- Return to oven bake an additional –25 minutes, or until the filling is set and firm the touch.
- Remove from and allow to cool completely in the pan.
Garnishing:
- Decorate with lemon candies on once cooled.
