Victor Bosoni Claims Victory at the 11th Edition of the Infamous Transcontinental Race

While most riders are still scattered along the vast route – or have already called it a day – Victor Bosoni has emerged victorious at the finish line of the 2025 Transcontinental Race, one of the world’s most grueling and iconic self-supported cycling events. After covering several thousand kilometers and racking up tens of thousands of meters in elevation gain, Bosoni arrived in Constanța, Romania, with a winning time of 10 days, 16 hours, and 38 minutes.

This year’s race, the 11th edition, kicked off in the legendary pilgrimage town of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. From there, riders plotted their own course – aside from a handful of mandatory checkpoints – across the rugged northern coast of Spain, through France, into Italy, and onward through the challenging terrain of Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania.

The Transcontinental is revered not just for its sheer distance, but for its completely unsupported nature. Riders are on their own from start to finish – no team cars, no drafted help, just them, their gear, and the road ahead.

At the time of publication, only six riders have crossed the finish line, a testament to the race’s brutality. Among them is the fastest woman of the event, Jocelyn Roth, who completed the course in 11 days, 13 hours, and 2 minutes – a stunning performance in its own right.

Participants have a total of 14 days to complete the race. For many, just reaching the finish line will be the true victory.
